Hello!
My name is Colleen Hallas and I'm a Fine Arts student studying animation at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
The work I produce tends as an artist and a storyteller most often takes on an ironic, sarcastic, silly tone as I prefer to not take the stories I choose to tell so seriously. I enjoy using my work, both illustrative and animated, as my own means of making light of my own traumas and trials I've faced while stumbling around and figuring out how to be a human. As a result, my work includes a lot of visual experimentation and comedic interpretations of the human experience. I've found that I enjoy myself and my work more when I take the hard to swallow truths of life with a bit of honey to make things a little less seriously and spend more time laughing at the absurdity of it all. In short- life is weird, so I make weird things.
